Why, you ask? Well, for some homeowners its a need and for others a luxury. Still more see it as an insurance policy that they can stay in their homes even in old age. And sometimes, elevators simply make sense with more homes being built upward, rather than outward.

Home contruction and permits on the rise

After a long decline in the housing and contruction markets due to the economic recession, it looks as if things might finally be back on the rise. Courtney Schlisserman of Bloomberg recently wrote that 'Builders broke ground on more U.S. homes in March than anticipated and took out permits at the fastest pace in more than a year'. This is certainly great news, as it means many workers will soon be able to return to their jobs, and the start of a rebounding economy.
